Lebanese denies allegations

Dib Anastas, chief of the military police of the Lebanese Forces (the umbrella group of Christian militias), was cited as a suspect in the murder of the late President-elect, Bashir Gemayel, in a Sept. 21 article entitled ''Maronites split over ties with Israel'' from Washington. Mr. Anastas denies the allegation. No charges have been made against him. He has never left his post, and has participated in the official investigation of the killing.
