Tough Brezhnev speech marks Russian Revolution

President Leonid Brezhnev, marking the 65th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution, warned ''hot-headed'' Western leaders Sunday they can expect ''crushing'' retaliation for any attack against the Soviet Union.

A parade marking the anniversary rolled through Red Square displaying tanks, personnel carriers, and rockets. Conspicuously not on display was a poster of Andrei Kirilenko, a Politburo member for some months rumored to be ill and once slated as possible successor to Mr. Brezhnev. The poster's absence signals the effective end of his political career.
