Space shuttle countdown proceeds after repairs

A faulty regulator allowed fuel tank pressure to come close to bursting a safety disk in the space shuttle Columbia, but engineers caught it in time and pressed on toward launch Thursday with two satellites aboard.

The launching is the fifth for the Columbia and its first mission for hire. Its main job is to carry two commercial satellites into orbit.
