Israeli-Lebanese talks to start Tuesday near Beirut
Israel and Lebanon will begin negotiations Tuesday on the withdrawal of foreign forces from Lebanon, a government spokesman said Sunday.
Beirut Radio said the venue for the talks would be in the Lebanese coastal town of Khalde, about 5 miles south of Beirut. Negotiations would continue in the northern Israeli border town of Kiryat Shemona Thursday, it was reported.
Meanwhile, several thousand demonstrators held a torch-light procession in Tel Aviv Saturday night, calling for the immediate withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon. The protest was organized by the Public Committee Against the War in Lebanon.
