Lewis pleads innocent of extortion in Tylenol case

James Lewis, a key figure in the Tylenol investigation, pleaded innocent to federal extortion charges at his arraignment.

Mr. Lewis was arrested in New York on December 13. He was charged with demanding $1 million from the makers of Tylenol. Police do not consider him a prime suspect in the deaths of seven Chicago-area residents, although initial speculation had linked him to the case.
