Adelman nomination runs into trouble in Senate

President Reagan's nomination of Kenneth Adelman to run the nation's arms control agency was on the verge of being rejected. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee put off a vote to give Reagan a chance to withdraw Mr. Adelman's name. Sen. Alan Cranston (D) of California said Adelman's remarks, which called arms control a sham, were serious enough to disqualify him.
