Carter on West Bank amid more violence

Former President Jimmy Carter criticized the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Wednesday. As he spoke, violence flared in most Arab towns on the West Bank.

Military sources said five Israelis were injured by rocks thrown at their cars in Hebron, and riot police fired tear gas at demonstrators in Bethlehem and Nablus. Mr. Carter repeated the call he made in office for a Palestinian homeland.
