There is a mountain of software information available for educators. The following source list, arranged in alphabetical order, is the result of sifting through a portion of the existing data.

1983 Classroom Computer News Directory of Educational Computing Resources, basic sourcebook published by Intentional Educations, 341 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, Mass. 02172, $14.95.

Courseware Report Card, 150 West Carob Street, Compton, Calif. 90220. Two editions (elementary and secondary) appear five times annually, $49.95.

The International Council for Computers in Education (ICCE), Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Oregon, Eugene, Ore. 97403. Largest nonprofit computer-educators organization; individual membership $16.50. Membership includes subscription to the Computing Teacher.

Microcomputer Directory: Applications in Educational Settings, available from Monroe C. Gutman Library, Appian Way, Cambridge, Mass. 02138, $15. A guide to computer projects nationwide.

Microcomputer Software and Information for Teachers, Northwest Regional Education Laboratory, 300 Southwest Sixth Avenue, Portland, Ore. 97204. Software reviews in published form or through on-line data base with average cost of $4 to $5 a search. To access Resources in Computer Education (RICE) data base, school agency or organization must be a subscriber to Bibliographic Retrieval Services Inc. (BRS). If not already a BRS subscriber, one-time $150 membership fee is required to join the School Practices Information Network, which automatically makes one a subscriber to BRS. Resource Handbook, basic sourcebook by Technical Education Research Centers 8 Eliot Street, Cambridge, Mass. 02168, $10 plus $2 for shipping.

School Microware Reviews appears three times yearly from Dresden Associates, PO Box 246, Dresden, Maine 04342. One-year subscription, $45.

SOFTSWAP, Microcomputer Center at the San Mateo County Office of Education, 333 Main Street, Redwood City, Calif. 94063. Has library of more than 300 public-domain programs that are free to educators who bring their own disks to the center. Will swap copy of any program in its noncommercial library for original software contribution from an educator. Sells disks (with from five to 30 programs per disk) for $10.
