Approval of President Reagan's handling of the situation in El Salvador has risen from 33 to 44 percent in the past year, according to a Gallup poll taken for Newsweek magazine. Also, 47 percent approved of the President's overall performance - 5 percentage points higher than a February 1982 sampling.
