Upper Volta was under curfew from dusk to dawn, diplomatic sources said Wednesday. The action followed a reported political crackdown by President Jean-Baptiste Ouedraogo on radical elements in his government. Ouagadougou, the capital, was reported calm. There was no immediate official confirmation of reports that Prime Minister Thomas Sankara, considered a radical, was detained.
