Spectacular putt clinches US Open

Golfer Larry Nelson used a 62-foot birdie putt to break a tie with defending champion Tom Watson and win his first US Open championship. The decisive putt came on the par-3 16th hole during Monday's delayed tournament conclusion. Thunderstorms had halted Sunday's final round with only six players still on the Oakmont Country Club course outside Pittsburgh.
