Relying on God
The wisdom of any individual is often inadequate to meet what is required of us. The demands of daily living may exceed individual expertise or feel so burdensome that we forget to do all that we intend. But when we begin each day with prayer and continue throughout the day to acknowledge man's unity with God, the infinite, divine Mind that creates and governs man, we can gain a sense of peace and dominion, no matter what comes up.
Understanding that God is the one perfect Mind, as the Bible implies He is, can do a lot to relieve frustrations. Turning to God for guidance can produce more satisfying results than if one were to rely on a person.
Realizing that the divine Mind is one's own Mind - indeed, the only real Mind there is - helps to eliminate the confusion and clamor of materially based thinking and uncovers what we need to know about any situation confronting us. As the Bible says, ''God is not the author of confusion, but of peace.'' n1 Also , ''There is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.'' n2

n2 Luke 12:22.
These reassuring promises can be proved today, just as they were in Biblical times. Neither time nor space can separate us from Mind's knowing, for God is infinite, eternal. Whatever we need to know we can know with accuracy, immediacy , and clarity, for Mind is always imparting its wisdom and intelligence to man.
The Bible is full of examples of men and women who knew what to do or say under challenging circumstances. They turned to God for the needed wisdom. They saw through the devious ways of others, and foresaw problems and solutions in situations concerning the welfare of nations as well as of individuals.
Perhaps the greatest example of an individual who relied on God for all he needed to know is Christ Jesus. He habitually turned to the Father for inspiration and direction during his ministry. Throughout his life he demonstrated a pure understanding of man's relationship to God and communed with the Father wherever he was.
Jesus foresaw what he was to experience before the crucifixion and resurrection, so he was prepared for all that occurred. He mentally discerned the character of those he met. He intuitively knew when to speak and when to remain silent. He always knew where to go and when, and how needs would be met. He even directed Peter on one occasion to get tax money from a fish's mouth!
Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, faithfully strove to follow Jesus' example. She unabashedly turned to God for guidance and vision. Mind's direction was especially needed as steps were taken to organize her church - ''a church designed,'' as she says, ''to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing.'' n3 At times her actions, taken at Mind's bidding, seemed unwise to those around her, but later they proved to be exactly what was needed for the Cause of Christian Science to prosper.

Individuals throughout the world are daily helped and healed by turning to the one Mind. Mistakes are caught and corrected before harm can be done; people are led to safety; attempts to beguile and defraud are seen through and thwarted. Lies and slander are exposed for what they are, stalemates are broken, and negotiations are successfully concluded through Mind's inspiration.
Divine Mind is an ever-present help. When we love, understand, and rely on God, we know what we need to know and are blessed. DAILY BIBLE VERSE O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!. . .Of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.
