Israeli Cabinet orders inflation-cutting steps

The Israeli Cabinet Tuesday approved several measures in Finance Minister Yigal Cohen-Orgad's plan to cut the country's 135 percent inflation. Among the proposals approved were an $80 annual education fee for each child in public schools; a 10 percent increase in income taxes on monthly incomes above $2,650; and a rise in the tax on foreign travel from $50 to $100.
