S. Africa expected to halt Angola, Namibia activity

Prime Minister P. W. Botha is expected to announce this week a temporary halt to South African military operations in the Angolan-Namibian border region, according to well-informed sources. Mr. Botha's announcement would follow a weekend of intense negotiations with a US diplomatic team led by Assistant Secretary of State Chester A. Crocker, the Reagan administration's chief architect of African policy.
