Americans, South Koreans killed in helicopter crash

A US helicopter crashed into a mountainside before dawn Saturday, killing all aboard - 18 US marines and 11 South Korean marines in military maneuvers here. The crash came just two days after a Soviet nuclear-powered submarine collided with a US aircraft carrier, also participating in the Team Spirit '84 exercises, in the southern Sea of Japan 150 miles east of Pohang.

Some 207,000 South Korean and 60,050 American troops are taking part in the exercises, scheduled to last until the end of the month.
