Mark Clark, US general in WWII, Korean war

Retired Gen. Mark Clark, who passed on here Tuesday, was the commander of Allied ground forces in Italy in World War II and commander of UN operations in the Korean war.

General Clark survived four other field commanders who directed the war in Europe and the Pacific - Gens. Dwight Eisenhower, Omar Bradley, George Patton, and Douglas MacArthur.
