US to continue aid to South Korea and Bush, in Jakarta, discusses Soviet threat

Vice-President George Bush arrived in Indonesia Thursday for talks with President Suharto on the Soviet military presence in Southeast Asia and improving US-Chinese ties.

Indonesia has maintained friendly ties with the United States since Suharto's military-backed regime came to power in 1966, but the two countries hold differing views on the balance of power in the region.
