Judge rules out cameras in L.A. child-abuse case
Municipal Judge Aviva K. Bobb has ordered that cameras be shut off during pretrial hearings in the Manhattan Beach preschool child molestation case. The ruling Wednesday reversed her initial decision to allow Cable News Network to televise the proceedings.
In his motion to have the cameras turned off during the hearing of discovery motions, defense attorney Daniel Davis argued that they created a cagelike image of the proceedings.
The CNN representatives in the courtroom did not argue against the ruling, but said they were ''looking into the matter.''
