Air Florida, 3 others indicted on fare policy
Air Florida, the financially troubled discount carrier, and three Central American airlines were indicted by a federal grand jury here Wednesday on charges of fixing passenger air fares between the United States and Central America.
The four were accused of violating the Sherman Antitrust Act, which prohibits price fixing.
Meanwhile, the airline, which is struggling to resume operations after filing for bankruptcy protection, will recall 100 flight attendants and restart flights between Miami and four other cities, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday. But attendants said company officials had not told them when service might be resumed. The flights would be between Miami and London and between Boston and St. Croix, and St. Thomas, they said.
