Sea-bed mining accord signed by 8 countries

Eight industrialized countries signed an agreement Friday aimed at avoiding disputes over sites among mining companies digging minerals out of the sea bed. Signers of the accord at the US diplomatic mission here were Belgium, Britain, France, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, West Germany and the United States.
