Chinese President begins official visit to Yugoslavia

President Li Xiannian of China began his first official visit to Yugoslavia Monday as the two independent Communist countries seek to develop closer ties. He arrived last Wednesday and spent the private portion of his stay touring western Yugoslavia. He had earlier visited Romania.

On Sunday in Zagreb, Mr. Li opened the largest exhibition of Chinese art ever presented to the world outside China as a tribute to good Sino-Yugoslav relations.
