British labor votes in favor of backing striking miners

Britain's labor movement committed itself Monday to ''total support'' of the country's striking coal miners after a tumultuous debate. The Trades Union Congress (TUC), representing 10 million members of 98 unions , voted overwhelmingly to back the miners in their fight to save pits and jobs.
