Senate committee accuses watchdog agency of waste
The General Accounting Office, a congressional watchdog agency, has been accused by the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee of wasting almost $13 million on a computer system that it says turned out to be practically worthless.
The CAMIS computer project was designed to link GAO headquarters and other offices and intended to replace 18 different systems, some computerized, at a cost of $15 million.
