Light thoughts in the night

I am out walking again, listening for light thoughts in the night. Listening through the hum of dulled traffic for distant threads of stillness. I sit on the curb and write of shadows and subtlety of light. Whispers spill from windows and the lone cry of a violin. So quiet this fading night, you can hear toenails clip pavement while dogs walk the streets, And cats sit on cooled summer sidewalks congregating like worms after a hard rain. Tucked between the shadows of darkness, and twilight.
