YOU CAN REALLY SAY IT IN PRINT

The latest gimmick: a print advertisement that speaks. Structural Graphics Inc. and Electronic Speech Systems Inc. are promoting a device that incorporates microcircuits and tiny speakers to reproduce human speech and recorded sounds. When the cardboard insert for a magazine or some other publication is opened, a recorded voice and background sound (a train whistle in a sample mailed to the press) play.

The speech module is 1 inches square and an eighth of an inch thick.
