STUDENT COUNCIL REVERSES VOTE ON HARVARD ROTC

Harvard's undergraduate student council has reversed its decision to ask ROTC back to the campus, declaring an earlier vote a violation of the undergraduate constitution. The university forced Reserve Officers' Training Corps programs from campus in 1969 following student protests.

The student council, in a 43-39 vote on Sunday, overturned its one-week old decision. It said bringing ROTC back was in violation of the student constitution because the program denies membership, and therefore scholarships, to homosexual students.
