US EASES CURBS ON COMPUTER EXPORTS TO EAST BLOC

The Bush administration has decided to ease curbs on exports of a broad range of desktop personal computers to the Soviet Union and Eastern-bloc nations, Commerce Secretary Robert Mosbacher said July 18. He said the move involved desktop models such as the Apple Macintosh Plus, IBM PS/2 and IBM AT-class compatibles.
