EMPLOYEES SAVE THEIR FIRMS $2 BILLION

The use of employee suggestion systems to foster quality products and reduce costs is producing results on the bottom line.

The National Association of Suggestion Systems reported that its member companies saved more than $2 billion in 1991 by responding to employee ideas. Increased employee involvement and improved motivation were other positive outcomes from the programs. Employees made about 1.2 million suggestions, and received $164 million in award payments for their ideas.
