Lilacs Past Their Prime

Not cloyingly sweet, not too much honey, but already past their prime, the lilacs lighten their deep purples into the color of their name. Lilacs past their prime shed a tiny rain of blossoms, and droop slightly, like some- one head-bent with thoughts but quiet. Everything worth saying has been said.
