CRAFT AND HOBBY ACTIVITY GROWS

In 1992, 82 percent of all US households have at least one person involved in crafts or hobbies, up from 77 percent in 1990, according to a study by Hobby Industries of America.

The study shows that growth areas were floral arranging and fashion-fabric painting and decorating. Needlecraft remained the No. 1 craft or hobby. On average, a person spends about eight hours per week on a craft or hobby.
