YUGOSLAVIA LOSES IMF MEMBERSHIP

The breakup of Yugoslavia is having its consequences in international organizations.

For instance, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) found last month that the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has ceased to exist and has therefore ceased to be a member.

At the same time, the IMF has decided that the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, the Republic of Slovenia, and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia/Montenegro) are the successors to the assets and liabilities of the former Yugoslavia in the IMF.
