WORTH NOTING ON TV

The First Annual Comedy Hall of Fame (NBC, 9-11 p.m., E.T.): There's no reason, I suppose, that comedians shouldn't have a Hall of Fame like just about every other category in the public eye. Some obvious and richly deserving names are among those honored at this inaugural event: Milton Berle, Jonathan Winters, George Burns, Walter Matthau, Red Skelton, and Carol Burnett. Live performances, lots of clips, and star tributes are all part of the evening. The material used in the show will find a permanent home at New York's Museum of Broadcasting and the UCLA Archives.

THURSDAY

Home Alone (NBC, 8-10 p.m.): The highest-grossing comedy feature film in movie history makes its TV debut on Thanksgiving. The 1990 release made a big name for then-eight-year-old Macaulay Culkin, whose sudden celebrity found the tyke filling the guest spot on ``Saturday Night Live'' and doing other star turns.

Playing a boy left home by mistake when his family flies to Paris, young Culkin ends up making two men who try to burglarize his house wish they'd chosen another profession. Later, news reports of real-life kids left by themselves - often distinctly unfunny items - were inevitably dubbed ``Home Alone'' cases. Oh yeah, the grownup cast includes Catherine O'Hara, John Heard, Daniel Stern, and Joe Pesci.

All-American Thanksgiving Parade (CBS, 9 a.m. to noon, E.T.): It's a lot of parades, actually, covered in spurts on a live national production. The splashy TV event is now in its 34th year on CBS. This edition offers everything from the 67th Macy's parade - still the one that defines the tradition - to Waikiki Beach's Aloha Floral Parade in Hawaii and the prematurely themed Santa Claus Parade from Toronto. The hosts - all estimable people chosen for no intelligible reason - include Faye Dunaway, Chad Allen, and others.
