* THURSDAY

Suki's Box: An Operation TNT Special (TNT, 8-9 p.m.): Cliff Robertson hosts this moving salute to veterans. Inspired by viewer letters, the program tells the personal stories of four veterans, including a still-unidentified young soldier who kept a diary during World War II and a nurse who served in Vietnam and is reunited with one of her patients.

Great Railway Journeys: Karachi to the Khyber Pass (PBS, 8-9 p.m. ): Longtime BBC correspondent Mark Tully brings a lifetime of experience to this 1,050-mile journey through Pakistan on the magnificent rail network built by the British in the 1880s. Leaving Karachi, Tully crosses the Sindh Desert, then passes through the Bolan Pass with its 20 tunnels, to Quetta. Continuing on, he stops at the exotic bazaars of Lahore and continues to Rawalpindi, then goes on to Peshawar, where the rail line through the Khyber Pass (closed since the Russian occupation of Afghanistan) is scheduled to reopen.

* FRIDAY

Salute to Veterans (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): For those who missed the first broadcast of this patriotic celebration on Memorial Day, PBS is reairing it. This musical and spoken-word tribute, hosted by

E.G. Marshall, takes place on the West Lawn of the Capitol and features Gen. Colin Powell, Judy Collins, Mac Davis, Pete Fountain, James Earl Jones, Kathy Bates, the Boys Choir of Harlem, and James Whitmore in concert with the National Symphony Orchestra led by Erich Kunzel.

* SUNDAY

The Space Shuttle (Discovery, 9-11 p.m.): The show looks at the United States's space program through rare, behind-the-scenes footage. It focuses on celebrated astronauts as well as not-so-well-known NASA employees whose devoted work keeps the program in flight.
