WORTH NOTING ON TV

* SATURDAY

Bonnie Raitt concert (A&E, 8-9 p.m.): When the Grammys take place on March 1 this year, one of the top nominees will be pop-rock-blues-country singer Bonnie Raitt.

She's up for several ``bests'': Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Female Pop Vocal Performer, Pop Album, and Female Rock Vocal Performer. The nominations are for her album ``Longing in Their Hearts,'' which was critically praised when it was released last year, hit No. 1 on the Billboard album chart, and is now a double-platinum CD.

It's nothing new to Raitt, who is already a multi-Grammy winner for her previous album ``Nick of Time.'' This special features numbers from the current album (``Circle Dance,'' ``Feeling of Falling,'' ``Storm Warning,'' ``Love Sneaking Up on You,'' and ``Come To Me''), as well as other songs. It also finds her singing blues with John Lee Hooker and performing with her father, Broadway musical-comedy great John Raitt.

Screen Actors Guild Awards (NBC, 9-11 p.m., EST): This show - replete with the glitter and gush typical of the genre - hands out awards in four film and eight television categories for 1994. They're determined through ballots sent to the 78,000 members of SAG (one former SAG president: Ronald Reagan).

Carried live from Universal Studios in Hollywood, the evening boasts an impressive list of celebrity presenters who will announce winners in such standard categories as ``Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a TV Movie or Mini-Series.''

But awards in two special categories are also being given. Oscar- and Emmy-winning actor George Burns, now in his nineties, receives SAG's 31st annual Lifetime Achievement Award from Ann-Margret. He discovered her in 1960 while auditioning singers for a Las Vegas show and become her mentor and lifelong friend.

A new award, Outstanding Portrayal of the American Scene, goes to the CBS-TV series ``Northern Exposure.''
