SUNDAY 6/13

Silent Predators (TBS, 8-10 p.m.): Harry Hamlin stars as a small-town California fire chief who helps a newly developed neighborhood fend off deadly snakes that have been breeding for 20 years. The acting is poor and the plot is overdone. It's not even mindless fun.

The American Fashion Awards (E! 9-11 p.m.): The 18th annual event airs for the first time on TV (taped June 2 in New York), and honors renowned designers and celebrities. Sela Ward and Caroline Rhea kick off the event with a look at celebrity arrivals and behind-the-scenes action. The program also features tributes to Sophia Loren and Cher.

MONDAY 6/14

Clara Bow: Discovering the 'It' Girl (TCM, 8-9 p.m.): Documentary on the Roaring '20s film star includes interviews with her son Rex Bell Jr. and biographer David Stenn. Courtney Love narrates the one-hour documentary on Bow, followed by her most famous film, "It" (1927) and the TV premires of "The Wild Party" (1929) and "Down to the Sea in Ships" (1923).

People's Century: 1900-1999 (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): The final 13 installments of PBS's colossal undertaking of illustrating the century debuts with "Boomtime," which documents postwar prosperity and the birth of the consumer society. Episodes that follow include "Fallout," "Great Leap," "Skin Deep," "Picture Power." The series concludes July 5 "Fast Forward."

TUESDAY 6/15

AFI's 100 Years ... 100 Stars (CBS, 8-11 p.m.): The countdown begins - again. Last year AFI unveiled its list of the 100 greatest American films. This time around, AFI counts down the 50 greatest American screen legends named by current stars including Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, Kevin Costner, and Sharon Stone.

From Star Wars to Star Wars (Fox, 9-10 p.m.): Samuel L. Jackson, who plays a Jedi master in "Star Wars - Episode I: The Phantom Menace," hosts this behind-the-scenes look at Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), the special-effects company founded by George Lucas. Clips from the "Star Wars" series will be featured (including footage from the making of "The Phantom Menace"), as well as other ILM films : "Forrest Gump," "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," and "The Abyss." Also featured are interviews with Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford.

WEDNESDAY 6/16

Blockbuster Entertainment Awards (Fox, 8-10 p.m.): Video rentals and moviegoing are two different views of the same reel. "Austin Powers," for instance, was a flop on the big screen, but a hit at home. For the fifth time, the video rental chain presents the "un-Oscars." Performing at the ceremony are 'N Sync, Ricky Martin ("Livin' La Vida Loca"), and others.

THURSDAY 6/17

US Open Golf (ESPN, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.): With two straight title wins, Tiger Woods is in roaring form. Meanwhile, David Duvall is still the world's No. 1-ranked golfer. The two are likely to produce some intense action on the fairways and greens of the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C.

The Story of Fathers & Sons (ABC, 8-9 p.m.): The affectionate and touching special weaves together stories of more than 40 American guys, both men and boys, who speak candidly to the camera about being a father, raising a son, and being a son. Viewers will see first-time fathers holding their infant sons, talking about their fears, hopes, and expectations. Also included are the fathers and sons who go through the rites of passage: Little League baseball, learning how to drive, and high-school graduation. Toward the end, adult sons are shown caring for their dads. The show is followed by an encore presentation of "The Story of Mothers & Daughters."

FRIDAY 6/18

Biography (A&E, 8-9 p.m.): On the eve of the royal wedding, Biography looks at the life of PR executive Sophie Rhys-Jones, who will soon be married to Prince Edward of England.

Walt Disney World's Summer Jam Concert (ABC, 8-9 p.m.): Teen sensation Britney Spears, 98 Degrees, 'N Sync, and newcomer Tyrese will perform their hit songs at the Florida theme park.
