What: Need some expert advice on your child's elementary education? Next week, the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) will hold its 11th annual National Principals Hotline, a service dedicated to answering parents' questions about schools, children, and education.

BEST POINTS: The 2000 Hotline, from March 19 to 21, originates from New Orleans, where approximately 6,000 K-8 principals will attend NAESP's annual convention. Educators will volunteer in two-hour shifts, responding to topics such as children's reading problems, school discipline and zero-tolerance policies, and safety. During specific days and times posted on this Web site, you may ask your questions via phone (1-800-944-1601) or e-mail by accessing the site. Experts from the National Association of School Psychologists will also be available to answer questions. Check out this site for a wealth of educational resources, programs, and information.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The hotline is co-sponsored by the nonprofit, Virginia-based NAESP, Family Circle magazine, and TIAA-CREF, a financial-services organization in New York. It answers some 1,000 calls each year from the US and Canada.
