Kids' Web sites conform to legislation
Kid-oriented Web sites are scrambling to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which takes effect in April. The legislation requires sites that solicit information from children under 13 to obtain parental consent. The new law is forcing some sites to cancel kids' e-mail accounts, while others have set up free parental-consent hot lines.
