"It wasn't the hardest job; I mostly rode in a cart" said Tiger Woods's honorary caddy in a charity event before last weekend's Bay Hill Invitational golf tournament in Orlando, Fla. True, the sport's most celebrated shotmaker didn't need much help. But if he had, this particular caddy probably wasn't the ideal person to offer it. On the other hand, if he wanted a few pointers on investing, he was in great company. The caddy: billionaire Warren Buffett.

On the subject of celebrities and sports, Henry Kissinger was paired against a senior government official at table tennis Monday in Beijing. He and Vice Premier Li Lanqing batted the little ball around to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the ping pong diplomacy that led to a thaw in relations between the US and China. Kissinger, then national security adviser under President Nixon, went on to become secretary of State . No word on who won the match.
