RAMADAN DINING: Reporting today's story about Ramadan in Saudi Arabia (page 6) posed some logistical problems for reporter Nicole Gaouette. Chief among them: eating. Since the religious police can arrest anyone eating publicly during the month-long fast, the only solution was returning to her hotel for room service. (Even hotel restaurants remain closed). "It got to the point," she says, "where I'd phone and the clerk would say, 'The usual?' "
