Surf to the source for corporate jobs

Hunting online for a corporate job? You might try bypassing the major "job boards" and going directly to corporate websites. As a group, Fortune 500 companies' own sites publicize three times as many open positions as do the major job sites, according to a survey by iLogos Research.

The survey found that 81 percent of Fortune 500 companies are posting primarily on their corporate career websites, compared with 51 percent on Monster.com, 43 percent on HotJobs.com, and 22 percent on CareerBuilder.com.

Corporations' active use of their own job sites has risen quickly. While only 29 percent of the Global 500 used corporate sites in 1998, the percentage has grown to 91 percent this year, according to iLogos.
