At the bus stop

He bent to kiss her
like a bee to a flower.
His friend looked
and looked away,
skateboards jutting
like single wings
from under their arms.
I was a passing
observer. The kiss
had nothing
to do with me,
but, like the sun
going down
and the wind
coming up,
it lifted me.
