When police in North Wales began an "Arrive Alive" campaign to promote highway safety, Chief Constable Richard Bunstrom called motorists who exceed the speed limit "anti- social ... criminals." But now his department has revealed that of the almost 50,000 violators caught on camera, 12 were - oops - members of the force. Each was fined $100, the same as a civilian would pay. A campaign spokeswoman said the public should be reassured, since this demonstrated there is no favoritism for cops.

You could literally call Hank van Leeuwen's home a museum. In fact, the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Australia essentially did. In a report this week, it recommends that the former employee of the Australian Museum in Sydney be charged with theft for liberating more than 2,000 of its rare artifacts or scientific specimens ... and using its own vehicles for much of the hauling.
