On a High Mountain

A poem for kids.

On a High Mountain Clouds came together in the sky above a high mountain. Then lightning crackled through them and booming thunder rumbled over them until gray rain shivered down to earth. Raindrops gathered into tiny rivulets on the mountainside, raced to join brooks running to a wide river. The river rolled mightily on its way to the sea! It brought water to thirsty crops and fresh water to me. Thank you clouds, thank you mountain, thank you river for my drink.
