1. Scoreboard, Baby, by Ken Armstrong and Nick Perry

Scoreboard, Baby: A Story of College Football, Crime and Complicity,” by Ken Armstrong and Nick Perry (Bison, 400 pp.) investigates the University of Washington football team. In 2000, 24 players of its players were shielded from criminal prosecution by a system that authors Armstrong and Perry argue encourages athlete entitlement and exceptionalism.
