Late Night host Jimmy Fallon will host the "62nd Primetime Emmy Awards" on August 29.

Late night host Jimmy Fallon will host the Emmy Awards in August.

Jimmy Fallon will be presiding over this year's prime-time Emmy Awards telecast.

He will be at the helm of "The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards" when the show airs live coast-to-coast on NBC on Aug. 29. The network made the announcement Tuesday.

Fallon is a veteran of "Saturday Night Live" and host of "Late Night" since March 2009.

He joked in a statement that hosting the Emmys "has been a dream of mine ever since they told me I was doing it."

Nominations for the awards, presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, will be announced July 8.
