Pearl Harbor remembered

Image 9 of 18

Visitors enter the USS Arizona memorial at the World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Dec. 4, 2010. The loss of life aboard the Arizona accounted for nearly half of the Americans who perished at Pearl Harbor and 13 other attack sites on the island on December 7, 1941, the day that drew the US into World War II. Last year's 69th anniversary coincided with the dedication of a new $56 million Pearl Harbor visitors center, featuring indoor and outdoor galleries, interactive exhibits, two movie theaters, an amphitheater, and an education center.
