The 106th World Series, featuring two teams that not many people expected to be there, gets started this Wednesday night in San Francisco.

The Giants play host to the Texas Rangers, who finally reached baseball's promised land after 39 years of struggle. San Francisco last played in the Fall Classic in 2002, losing to the Angels.

Game 1 of the World Series is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET Wednesday at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Cliff Lee, who's been terrific this postseason, will start for the Rangers while Tim Lincecum will toe the rubber for the Giants.

Game 2 will be Thursday night, also at 7:30 PM ET in San Francisco.

The scene then shifts to the Lone Star State for Games 3-5 in Texas. The Game 3 start time is set for 6:30 PM ET Saturday. Game 4 is set to go off at 8 PM ET Halloween night. If necessary, Game 5 of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for next Monday night at 7:30 PM ET.

Potentially, Games 6 & 7 would be played back in San Francisco next Wednesday and Thursday nights, with a start time of 7:30 PM ET both nights. All games will be televised by Fox.
