The Supreme Court rejected an appeal Monday from Citizens United, a conservative group that argued its promotions for its anti-Hillary Rodham Clinton movie did not have to comply with campaign-finance laws. As a result, it must attach a disclaimer and disclose donors to run the ads.

Sales of existing homes rose 2.9 percent in February, the biggest increase in a year, but the home sales picture was mixed, the National Association of Realtors said Monday. The median home price plunged 8.2 percent from a year ago, to $195,900, the sharpest drop since record- keeping began in 1968.

The National Transportation Safety Board has confirmed that two steel connecting plates on the Minneapolis bridge that collapsed last August were visibly bent as early as 2003, according to the Star Tribune newspaper. Minnesota officials declined to say when the state first knew about the suspect plates.

While waiting for high water to recede in eastern Arkansas and southeastern Missouri, residents may see floodwater "going into areas where people have not seen it before," a National Weather Service meteorologist warned Sunday.

Willie Earl Green, who was released last week after spending nearly 25 years in California's San Quentin prison for a wrongful murder conviction, said, "I'm not bitter, I'm happy." Green, now 56, never stopped trying to prove his innocence and worked hard to educate both himself, earning an associate's degree, and his fellow inmates. He also married his pen pal in 1991.

In an effort to satisfy stockholders of Bear Stearns, JPMorgan Chase & Co. said it was discussing a deal to increase its offer to buy the struggling investment bank from $2 to $10 per share, The New York Times said.

KFC, a subsidiary of Yum Brands Inc. known for its fried chicken, said it is test-marketing grilled chicken in six cities in anticipation of a national rollout early next year. The 14,000-restaurant chain is looking to lure back consumers who dropped fried chicken from their diets.

Led by Stephen Curry, who scored 25 of his 30 points in the second half, Davidson upset Georgetown Sunday, 74-70, to advance to the Sweet 16 in the men's NCAA basketball tournament. Before this year, Davidson hadn't won a tournament game in 39 years.
