Rajai's Cabinet choices draw Bani-Sadr criticism

IRan's Prime Minister Muhammad Ali Rajai introduced his new Cabinet to Parliament but encountered stinging criticism from President Abolhassan Bani-Sadr, who said the selection represented "conflicting lines" at a time when "understanding" was needed. Mr. Rajai's team featured a string of youthful revolutionaries, but included some academics, apparently to placate the President. Mr. Bani-Sadr is particularly opposed to the selection of hard-liner Hussein Moussavi to replace relative moderate Sadeq Ghotbzadeh as foreign minister.
