Firefighters aided by favorable winds and more than two dozen aircraft have put a line around more than half of a 28,250-acre brush and timber fire in California's San Jacinto Mountains, and officials expected full containment of the blaze by Thursday if the wind didn't shift. The fire was started last week by four boys playing in a canyon above Palm Springs.
